Collective Alumni Giving
A message from the Deputy Director of Development
“One of College’s foremost priorities is to make an Oxford education available to all capable students, regardless of financial background. Learning at Jesus for undergraduates means exposure to a teaching environment which is both academically challenging and personally rewarding. Whilst for graduates it centres on accessing a broad network of individuals who help to inform and guide research. Benefitting from these should not be dependent on background and thanks to the unwavering support of alumni and friends we saw the successful completion of several appeals last year.
In addition to the wider appeals outlined below, we would like to make special mention to the individuals who support our students independently through bursaries and studentships. We are fortunate to benefit from a community which recognises the value of higher education and wish to safeguard our meritocratic application process.
It is with pleasure that we share the reports below and renew our sincere thanks to all those who contributed to these appeals.”
Thank you!
Thank you!

Celebrating alumni collective giving in FY24/25
Thank you for your support, this year and always!
Thanks to our alumni, Jesus has one of the most generous access bursary schemes in Oxford, which is distributed each year to students facing financial hardship. With government funding always at risk it is important that College is able to be as financially self-sufficient as possible. By giving to bursaries and studentships it means we can continue providing reliable support to our gifted students and uphold our commitment to fairness.
In celebration of your generosity, we are pleased to share some testimonials from our student recipients and donors below.

“The Dr John and Frances Walsh Bursary has played a crucial role in my time at Oxford. It has allowed me to purchase essential books and resources for my studies, ensuring that I can fully engage with the material. More broadly, the financial support has given me a greater sense of stability and freedom, allowing me to make the most of everything Oxford has to offer.”

2023 History -
“My time at Jesus College has made me louder, prouder, and braver. This bursary allows me to occupy myself entirely in my numerous passions with significantly lessened financial worry. At Oxford, I have made friends for life (some pictured with me in the photo above!) and am perpetually bettering my understanding of the world and of myself.”
